Speaking at the celebration, Consul of the Republic of Poland in Lviv Martsin Zyenyevych noted that at the beginning of this year the Poles watched the active participation of Ukrainian students in the Dignity Revolution with a great sense of solidarity. Then in the Polish business environment in Gdańsk was born the idea of helping young Ukrainians who are desperately fighting for independence and European choice of Ukraine. It was not only about the financial support, but also sharing the best experience and giving them the ability to act in the European conditions and standards.

In April of this year Grzegorz Waliuszewski and President of Gdańsk Pavel Adamovych visited Lviv. They presented the idea of the project and received the support of the Consul General of Poland in Lviv Yaroslav Drozd. Therefore both initiators met with Rector of Lviv Ivan Franko National University Volodymyr Melnyk and Rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University Yuriy Bobalo.

Rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University Yuriy Bobalo noted that the Polish partners offered to start a preliminary selection of students who had to pass a one-month professional internship in the best Polish and international companies in Poland immediately. 20 students of both universities were invited to participate in the program.

The first program release was successfully implemented due to the enthusiasm of the initiators and the partners of the project. Lviv students returned from Poland full of new skills and energy. They left the companies they worked at with good impression.

After the first successful release the initiators decided to continue the program. Thus the Foundation «Leopolis for Future» was established. According to the contract, it will implement the program in the following years.
